Comics are my favorite art form. My father collects them–everything from early Batman and Mad through R. Crumb and the Dark Knight. Some of my earliest memories are sitting on the floor of the spare room, filled mostly with comics, falling in love with the Spirit and Pogo. I started drawing comics as a kid (“Matzo Ball Man” was an early attempt), and have always drawn them, as time and sanity permitted, to try and explain (to myself, primarily) what was going on in my life. I’ve spent several years working on the story and characters for the Lay of the Lacrymer, and finally decided to launch it as a serial comic, purely for my own edification and amusement (though I hope other folks enjoy it, too).
